If you are searching for a "muster roll format in Excel," you are likely tired of messy paper diaries. But switching from paper to an Excel spreadsheet on a dusty construction site is just replacing one headache with another.

The Problem with Excel Templates

Hundreds of Indian civil contractors download free Excel templates every day. They work perfectly on a laptop in an air-conditioned office. But on site?

• Mobile Nightmares: Have you tried scrolling through a 50-row Excel sheet on a 6-inch phone screen in the blazing sun? It's impossible.
• Broken Formulas: One wrong tap by your site supervisor, and the entire weekly wage calculation breaks, resulting in overpaying or underpaying labourers.
• No Real-time Sync: By the time the Munshi emails or WhatsApps you the updated Excel sheet, the data is already old.

The Ergonomic Fix: A Digital Register

Smart contractors in Maharashtra, Gujarat, and across India are ditching formats entirely. Instead, they use a purpose-built, 100% free digital register like Construct Daily.

Instead of downloading a rigid format, your site supervisor opens the app, taps "Present" or "Half-day" next to a labourer's name, and the exact daily wage—including advances—is calculated instantly. The data is saved to the cloud, meaning you see the exact financial liability on your dashboard in real-time.
