The Problem: Chaos in the Mud
The Indian construction industry runs on cash, trust, and paper diaries. Every Saturday evening, site supervisors and contractors spend hours fighting over illegible physical muster rolls (Hazri registers). A mistri claims he worked on Tuesday; the diary says he was absent. An advance of ₹500 (Bhatta) is given but forgotten, leading to a bitter wage dispute.
Meanwhile, vendor bills are lost, sub-contractor progress is disputed, and the WhatsApp group is a graveyard of untrackable photos and text messages. We realized that contractors didn't need a ₹50,000 "Enterprise ERP" that requires an accountant to operate. They needed something that works on a smartphone, on a dusty site, in 30 seconds.
The Story Behind Construct Daily
Construct Daily was not built in a corporate boardroom. It was built by a solo founder working directly alongside a close friend who is an active civil contractor in India.
Our rule was simple: If the contractor wouldn't use it on his phone while standing in the mud, we wouldn't build it. We stripped away the accounting jargon, eliminated the learning curve, and focused entirely on the raw reality of site operations: marking Hazri, logging Kharcha (Petty Cash), and tracking vendor bills.
Why is it Free?
Our core belief is that digitizing the Indian construction site should not carry a toll tax. Corporate software companies charge exorbitant per-user fees, locking out the exact people who need technology the most—small and mid-sized contractors (₹1 Cr to ₹100 Cr turnover).
We built Construct Daily as a free public utility. There are no paywalls for the core site management features, no user-seat limits, and no credit cards required. You own your data, and we never sell it.
Our North Star
Our vision is to standardize the movement of money and labor across India. When a mistri asks for his wage balance, you should be able to send him a transparent digital slip instantly. When a hardware vendor claims a missing payment, you should have the digital ledger in your pocket.
